Learning Irregulars Interview with Dave & Jay

Innovation and book publishing: about as far apart as anything you can find.

In these videos, shot in early June at Internet Time Studios, Dave Gray and Jay Cross talk about unbooks.

Unbooks are never finished (because there’s always room for improvement). Unbooks make room for readers as well as authors. Unbooks put the author back in control.

  1. The unbook concept is very appealing to me. I’m working on a didactic novel presented in a wiki. I’m completing the revisions and I have a clear sense of what version 1.0 will be but I also know that there will be a lot of room for continuous improvement. I thought I would be sick of it by now — having worked on it for six months — but I can see myself working through multiple versions of it, adding materials and refining some sections. If anything, there is always room for improving the writing. Thanks for sharing these insights.

  2. Dave Gray said,

Hi Barbara, I have updated the uncatalogue to include your book — it looks very interesting!

  3. Sci-fi is a fictional genre that lends itself to multiple authors, side stories, and being unfinished.
